North Korea claims that Washington intentionally provokes Japan and South Korea to take action against Pyongyang, bringing the situation on the Korean peninsula to the “edge of war”.
The central North Korean newspaper Rodong Sinmun warns that the DPRK will begin military operations for the reunification of the North and the South in response to U.S. provocations. The newspaper threatens not only with war, but also with “preventive nuclear strikes”.
“In response to even minor provocations by the United States, the people and army of the DPRK will unhesitatingly unleash a great war for the reunification of their homeland,” says the official newspaper of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea.
The newspaper says that the U.S. “went completely insane”, and also “failed with intimidation” of DPRK and attempts to “achieve something” by placing strategic bombers and aircraft carriers.
Also the commentary says that the U.S. “is trying to take over” North Korea “at the expense of efforts” of Japan and South Korea, “deliberately provoking” them and bringing the situation on the Korean peninsula to the “edge of war”.
