USA started deploying THAAD anti-missile system in South Korea

As reported by Yonhap agency, the equipment for the U.S. anti-missile complex THAAD was delivered to South Korea.

“Six trailers with radar and other equipment for the U.S. missile defense system THAAD went to the deployment site on the golf course in South Korea on Wednesday, which caused a clash between the police and local residents,” the report said.

According to local media, some people in South Korea fear that the deployment of the THAAD system could provoke a war with the North Korea.

As it was reported earlier, the United States began deploying the first elements of anti-missile defense in South Korea in early March 2017. At that time two THAAD complexes were delivered to the Korean peninsula.

According to the media, the U.S. military is considering the possibility of knocking down North Korea‘s missiles during the tests to demonstrate the strength.
