Opposition activist Navalny got chemical eye burn after being attacked with green dye

Opposition activist Alexei Navalny was diagnosed with “a chemical burn of the right eye” after an unidentified person splashed green dye in his face on April 27th.

“Pretty unpleasant thing. It’s difficult to anesthetize, and the eye burns as hell, and won’t even open,” he said on his website.

He added that he did not stay in the hospital and returned to the office.

Alexei Navalny was attacked near the office of the Anti-Corruption Foundation when he was going to the Global Event Forum 2017, where he was supposed to speak. An unidentified person splashed green dye in his face and disappeared. The substance got into the eye, and the activist was taken to the hospital.
