The Senate of the Netherlands voted to ratify the Association Agreement Ukraine-EU. Thus, the Netherlands became the last of the EU members to ratify the document.
Now it needs to be signed by the king, and then, after publication in the State Journal, it will come into force.
There are 75 members of the Upper Chamber of the Parliament. Last week Senator Ben Knapen said that 48 people would vote in favor of ratification in the Senate, and 27 against. In fact, 50 voted for, and 25 voted against the ratification.
The Lower House of the Parliament of the Netherlands ratified the Association Agreement with Ukraine in February 2017. 89 out of 150 members of the Chamber voted in favor, and 55 against the ratification.
