Putin: Patriotism is more important than knowledge

Educating children is secondary in comparison with teaching them patriotism. Such an opinion was voiced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the eve of the All-Russian Graduate Day in the Kremlin.

He said that during a meeting with school teachers, whose students showed highest results during the final exams.

“To study is a hard work. It’s not easy to get knowledge, especially modern, broad knowledge. But it’s still secondary in comparison with the upbringing of a person, so that they properly treat themselves, their friends, their family, and their Homeland. These are absolutely fundamental things,” he said.

According to Putin, only at such a base one can expect that graduates of Russian schools will become full-fledged people and will themselves receive satisfaction from life.
