Two servicemen of Russian FSB Border Service detained in Ukraine


The Ukrainian Border Service together with the armed forces of Ukraine detained two servicemen of the Border Service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in the Kherson region of Ukraine.

If was reported on June 30th by the chairman of the State Border Service of Ukraine Viktor Nazarenko.

According to Nazarenko, the detention took place on June 30th at about 2:30 am on the shore of the Perekop Bay.

“We detained two unknown persons without documents and found a boat they used to moor to the shore. During the preliminary questioning we established that the detainees are servicemen of the Border Guard Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. According to them, they allegedly acted as ‘educational border violators’ during training exercises, but lost their way, and thus found themselves on the mainland of Ukraine,” he wrote.

Nazarenko added that administrative actions against the detained citizens of Russia are subject to administrative and procedural measures determined by law.

There was no comments from the Russian side so far.
