Russian propagandists photoshopped Putin in chair surrounded by G20 leaders

Russian media “put” President Vladimir Putin in an empty chair, surrounded by world leaders at the G20 summit.

They also replaced the label “United Kingdom” with “Russian Federation”.

The fake picture was posted by popular journalist and TV host Vladimir Solovyov, as well as by co-Chairman of the National Strategic Council of Russia Sergey Markov.

Here are the fake picture and the original. The top image comes from the G20 official photo report, the bottom one is the one that was shared by Russian media.

Russian opposition activist Ilya Yashin revealed the fake, posted the original photo on his Facebook page along with screenshots from Solovyov’s and Markov’s posts.
