On August 2nd a light carrier rocket of class Vega was successfully launched from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana. It was reported by the press service of Arianespace.
Vega put two satellites into solar-synchronized orbits: OPTSAT-3000 for the Italian Ministry of Defence; and Venµs, a mission of the Israel Space Agency (ISA) – a government body sponsored by the country’s Ministry of Science & Technology – and the French CNES space agency (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales).
This is the 10th launch of the Vega program (the second in 2017). Since 2012, the launch vehicles of this series have put into orbit 25 satellites.
