Israel attacked chemical weapons plant in Syria

On the night of Thursday, September 7th Israel struck at a plant near the city of Masyaf in the province of Hama in Syria.

As it was noted, the Israelis attacked the research center and the plant involved in the development of chemical weapons. The facilities were under the control of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Masyaf is located several dozen kilometers from the port of Tartus, where the Russian naval base is located, and near the Khmeimim air base, where Russian military aircraft are deployed, protected by the S-300 and S-400 air defense systems.

However, the presence of Russian air defense systems in Syria did not prevent the operation.

According to the Syrian pro-government media, two people were killed as a result of the attack. The statement also specified that Israeli warplanes struck the site from within Lebanese airspace.
