Resident of Tatarstan suffering from schizophrenia ate his fellow villager

A resident of the village of Novoe Ilderyakovo was detained on suspicion of cannibalism. This was reported on Thursday October 5th by the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee for Tatarstan.

According to the press service, on the night of October 5th a body of a 53-year-old man was found in one of the houses. There were cut wounds on the neck and abdomen. A schizophrenic 40-year-old fellow villager confessed to the murder. He said that he was staying with the victim, and at some point decided to kill the house owner and eat it.

The guest beat the owner with a stool, and after the man stopped showing signs of life he cut his throat and opened his belly. The suspect ate part of the host’s body, then telephoned the police and reported the murder. He explained that he “wanted to drink his blood and taste his meat”.

A few days ago there was a report of another case of cannibalism, this time in the city of Krasnodar.
