North Korea recognized Crimea part of Russia

As it was reported by the Russian Embassy in North Korea on Thursday October 12th, the DPRK recognizes the Crimean peninsula as a Russian region.

“The Republic respects the outcome of the referendum held in Crimea on the entry of the peninsula into the Russian Federation, considers its results to be legitimate and fully compliant with international legal norms,” the message says.

The embassy added that Pyongyang formally outlined its position on this issue when voted in the UN.

The North Korean publishing house Scientific Encyclopedia has already released a new political atlas of the world, in which the Crimea is painted in Russian colors.
