Russia does not agree with placing UN peacekeepers on whole territory of Donbas

The Russian Federation does not agree to deploying peacekeepers throughout the occupied Donbas and along the state border.

This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin.

“Russia does not consent with deploying peacekeepers throughout the Donbas and along the border. This would mean revising Minsk agreements,” Karasin said.

Earlier, the head of the faction of Petro Poroshenko’s Bloc in Ukrainian parliament Arthur Gerasimov stated that the laws on the special status and reintegration of Donbas influence the decision on the introduction of peacekeepers.

“Both these laws, indeed, have almost direct influence on the decision of our partners regarding the introduction of peacekeepers,” Garasimov said.

According to him, further prolongation of European Union sanctions against the Russian Federation also depends on the law on the special status of the temporarily occupied territories.
