Journalist of Echo of Moscow Tatyana Felgenhauer was stabbed at her work place


An unidentified man broke into the editorial office of Ekho Moskvy (Echo of Moscow – RRT) and stabbed radio host Tatyana Felgenhauer in the neck.

As the editor-in-chief of the radio station Alexei Venediktov told Interfax on Monday, the journalist was hospitalized.

“The man who broke into the radio station with a knife struck Tatiana Felgenhauer in the throat, she was hospitalized, and had a catheter installed,” Venediktov said.

He added that the police had been warned about what had happened.

According to Venediktov, at the moment it is unknown about the journalist’s condition.

“I know she is breathing though,” said the editor-in-chief of Ekho Moskvy.

As it was noted on the website of the radio station, the doctors say that there is no threat to the life of the journalist. It was also noted that the attacker hit the leader with a knife in the throat. He was detained by security and handed over to the police.
