Russian helicopter crashed near shores of Norway


A Russian helicopter crashed near the Spitsbergen archipelago in Norway. There were 8 people on board, their fate is still unknown.

According to the search and rescue service of Norway, the aircraft fell into the sea 2-3 km from the city of Barentsburg. According to preliminary data, the helicopter flew from the Russian mining village of Pyramid on Spitsbergen, but at 3:35 pm local time disappeared from the radar.

Local media specify that it was a civil Mi-8 helicopter. A rescue team on a helicopter and a coastal vessel went to the place of the crash.
