600,000 people suffer ‘reduced heat supply’ after emergency situation in Moscow


According to the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry for Emergency Situations in Moscow, Ilya Denisov, about 600,000 people remain in the zone of reduced heat supply in the east of Moscow after an accident on a heating main.

“The affected part of the pipe was localized. At the moment, the repair is underway to bring the temperature of the heating water to the normative 80-85°C (approx. 175-185ºF – RRT). There are about 600,000 people, 30 kindergartens and about 40 schools in the zone of reduced heat supply,” quotes RIA Novosti.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Vladimir Puchkov, demanded the plan for the restoration of heat supply to be brought to all residents of the affected areas.
