Putin: Yes, I will run for president in 2018


At the celebration of the anniversary of the GAZ auto plant in Nizhny Novgorod, Russian president Vladimir Putin said that he will participate in the next presidential election.

“Yes, I will run for the presidency of the Russian Federation,” quotes TASS.

A few hours before that, Putin spoke at the awarding ceremony Russian Volunteer 2017 in Moscow, where he was asked whether he would run. The president replied that “this decision must be made, and it will be made in the near future.”

The presidential elections in Russia will be held in March 2018, the campaign should officially start in December 2017. The intention to run was announced by Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Grigory Yavlinsky, Alexei Navalny, Ksenia Sobchak, Boris Titov and Gennady Zyuganov.
