In Amur region a strategic bomber Tu-95 went off the runway on Monday due to a fire in one of the engines. One crew member died, another one was hospitalized.

Russia has suspended all flights of strategic bombers Tu-95 for investigation of the cause of the accident.

Bomber went off the runway at takeoff during routine training flights at the airport “Ukrainka” (“Ukrainian” – RRT) in Amur region. Ammunition was not on board.

This is the third Russian Air Force aircraft accident during one week. At June 4 MiG-29 crashed in Astrakhan region due to an engine malfunction. The same day a fighter-bomber Su-34 flipped over near Voronezh. Both pilots survived.
