“Gazprom” has left the Top-10 of the world’s biggest energy companies

According to the annual ranking of the world’s largest energy companies made by the US news agency Platts, Russian gas giant “Gazprom” in 2015 has worsened its position, dropping to the 43rd place (from the 4th place last year). “Rosneft” closed the top ten (in 2014 it was on the 6th place), and became the only Russian company that made it to the Top 10.

“Novatek” has fell to 113th place (from 55th), “Transneft” – to the 83rd (from the 29th), “Lukoil” has got to the 13th place (losing 2 positions compared to last year), “Tatneft” dropped to 64th place (from 48th last year), and “Bashneft” – 101 th (67 th). The only one company that improved its position was “Surgutneftegas” – it rose from the 18th line to the 12th. In total, there is 12 Russian companies included into the Platts’ ranking, and for the first time it included “Volzhskaya Territorial Generation Company” that launched at the 165th place.

First place in the ranking has taken by American company ExxonMobil, the second was taken by Chevron (rising one position compared to last year), and Royal Dutch Shell has wrapped the Top-3 leaders, stepping up from the 5th position in 2014.
