Poland allowed the USA to deploy nuclear weapons on its territory


Poland is considering appealing to NATO to deploy nuclear weapons from the US on its territory. This was reported by “The Guardian” on Sunday, December 6.

Deputy Defense Minister Tomasz Shatkovsky said that Poland plans to ask NATO to include the country in the program of “nuclear deterrence”. This will increase the level of self-defense.

The Guardian, referring to the Polish media noted that this is the first public announcement of the plans of Poland to join the program.

US nuclear weapons as a part of NATO program had previously been deployed in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey.

Among the 28 members of NATO, nuclear weapons are held by the US, France and the Great Britain. However, only the US has the right to place it in the countries of the alliance.
