The permanent representative of Turkey to the UN Halit Cevik rejected criticism of Russian diplomats on firing on the positions of the PYD terrorist group in northern Syria.

“The country that blatantly violates the norms of international law in Syria has no right to lecture others”, – said Halit Cevik in response to the claims of the Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Peter Ilichev.

Speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council on “The role of the UN in the protection of international peace and security”, Chevik stressed that Turkey responds to the provocation of terrorists who bombard Turkish territory.

Cevik said that Russian air strikes against Syrian civilians are becoming more stringent, and cause serious concerns.
