Putin: “foes abroad” will try to disrupt elections to the State Duma


Russian President Vladimir Putin said that some “foes” abroad are preparing to interfere the elections to the State Duma in the fall of 2016.

“I read your documents prepared regularly, and there are general, and specific indication as well that, unfortunately, our foes abroad (as our people say) are also preparing to these elections,” – said Putin, referring to FSB officers on a board meeting.

He asked the FSB to prevent interference from outside “aimed at splitting the society”.

On the FSB board the head of the state has also disclosed the data on the activities of foreign secret services in Russia. According to him, in 2015 the activity of more than 400 employees of foreign intelligence services was suppressed.
