Parliament of Kazakhstan ratified partnership agreement with the EU


The Upper House of the Parliament of Kazakhstan (the Senate) adopted a law on ratification of the agreement on enhanced partnership and cooperation with the EU, reports TASS.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Idrissov, the agreement provides the strengthening of political dialogue, expansion and deepening of cooperation in the field of foreign policy, security, space security, countering the spread of weapons of mass destruction, conflict prevention, and combating terrorism.

He stressed that in the new agreement “the most important part is the trade section that provides our European partners with an additional guarantee of stability, and increases the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan”.

Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan and the EU discuss simplification of visa regime.
