Great Britain and Ukraine will sign a new defense agreement

United Kingdom will sign a new defense agreement with Ukraine, saying that thus it increases its contribution to help the country in its confrontation with Russia. This was reported by The Telegraph.

British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon said that the new agreement is a signal that the UK is “firmly” on Ukraine’s side.

The new agreement will last for 15 years, providing greater involvement of British troops in joint exercises, and carry out more training for Ukrainian armed forces.

The countries will also cooperate in the exchange of military intelligence data.

“The UK will stand firm with Ukraine as they defend their territorial integrity. This new defence agreement sets out that commitment as we enhance our training of Ukrainian forces,” – Fallon said.

According to British officials, a preliminary agreement on cooperation in the field of defense between Britain and Ukraine lapsed in 2006.
