Almaz-Antey plans to lay off up to 30% of staff


The Almaz-Antey Group (the flagman of Russia’s weapons industry – RRT) plans to optimize the head count in order to save money in the second quarter of this year, and reduction can reach up to 30% of employees. This was announced by CEO Yan Novikov.

“As the parent company, in the second quarter of this year the Group will have to optimize the head count. The planned volume of reduction in staff count can reach 30%,” – Novikov told reporters.

He said that currently the company is preparing “a number of activities related to the transition to the regime of austerity”. “In certain areas, within the framework of this task, we will be forced to make unpopular measures”, – said the CEO.

“As part of the transition to the regime of austerity, the Group also plans a whole series of other measures, which will be announced later,” – said Novikov.

He said that regardless of these plans, the execution of contractual obligations within the framework of the state defense order is the “task of particular importance.”

According to Novikov, “the issue of saving resources in the current situation is quite serious”. The CEO of Almaz-Antey has also added that the management of the group will make “every effort to maintain and increase the intellectual, human, and industrial potential of the enterprise.”
