Su-25 crashed in Primorye


A Su-25 aircraft crashed during landing at the airport Chernigovka in Primorye. It was performing a training flight without ammunition. The pilot ejected. His life and health are not in danger. The plane crashed in the town. There are no victims and destructions on the ground.

As reported by Interfax, the Safety Commission of the Ministry of Defence of Russia was sent to the scene. According to preliminary information, the aircraft suffered an engine failure.

Su-25 – the famous “Grach” (“Rook” – RRT) – is the workhorse of the war in Afghanistan, and many other conflicts around the world. It positioned itself very well from the very beginning, and can perform a combat mission even after receiving up to a hundred holes. In peacetime, nearly 20 such planes collapsed in various accidents since the 1990s.

In September 2015, another Su-25 crashed in the Kuban. The first class pilot Alexey Nazarov died. Till the last moment he was driving the falling plane away from residential buildings.
