On April 1, 2016, the connection point Budintse of a gas interconnector between Ukraine and Slovakia started to work in both directions. This was stated in the message of the operator of the Slovak gas transmission system Eustream.

“Starting from April 1, 2016, the connection point Budintse becomes bi-directional, and able to handle inflow from the Ukrainian side in the direction of Eustream system,” – said in the message.

It is noted that the maximum daily input from Ukraine is 19 million cubic meters per day on a regular basis.

In the future, Eustream will make a dynamic assessment of capacity utilization, and will be able to offer potential customers a monthly extra volume, which will be available on a variable basis.

First gas supplies from Europe to Ukraine through the territory of Slovakia started on September 2, 2014.
