Launch of Proton-M with American satellite postponed to June 9


According to RIA Novosti referring to Roscosmos, the start of Proton-M carrier rocket with American satellite Intelsat DLA-2 postponed once again.

“The launch of Proton-M carrier rocket with an American spacecraft Intelsat DLA-2 moved to the backup date June 9, 2016 due to technical reasons,” the state corporation said. “The start is scheduled for 10:10 Moscow time.”

The satellite was manufactured by American company Space Systems Loral on request of the satellite communication operator Intelsat S.A. It weighs more than 6 tons. The contract for the launch of the device was signed in the spring of 2013 by the Russian-American company International Launch Services Inc.
