Turkey denies it apologized to Russia

The press secretary of Turkish president Ibrahim Kalyn disproved the reports spread by Russian media about Turks allegedly “apologized” for the downed plane.

“There was no apologies in the letter of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Russian President Vladimir Putin,” the spokesman for Turkish President Ibrahim Kalyn said.  “The head of the Turkish state only shared the pain of the loss with the family of the deceased Russian pilot, and pointed out that he was sorry.”

Kalyn also said that in Erdogan‘s letter he called for the restoration of the traditional friendly relations between Turkey and Russia, and for cooperation in order to resolve regional crises and to fight against terrorism.
