Turkey issued warrant for arrest of 11 Russian citizens


17 people, including 11 Russian citizens, were arrested in connection with explosions in Istanbul’s airport.

The total number of arrested has risen to 30. All of them were charged with terrorist activities.

A week after the terrorist attack at the airport in Istanbul, Turkish authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of 17 other suspects. As DHA agency reported on Tuesday, July 5, 11 of them have Russian citizenship. All arrested accused of being members of terrorist organizations. The total number of arrested has reached 30 people.

Ankara blamed the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS) in the attack at the airport, which, however, has not yet announced its involvement in the attack.

On June 28 three men opened fire at the international terminal of Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, and then detonated explosive devices attached to their bodies. As a result, 45 people were killed, over 230 injured.
