Russia blocked expanding of OSCE mission in Ukraine

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry: Full-scale presence of international observers would block Russia’s ability to supply militants and to transfer its troops to Donbas.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry condemned the actions of Russia, which blocked the initiative to extend the mandate of the OSCE mission to the whole length of the Ukrainian-Russian border that is currently not controlled by Ukraine.

Kiev insists that such actions contradict Minsk agreements.

“Russia’s explicit resisting to implementing such an important security element is its purposeful opposition to the peace process. A full-scale presence of international observers will not allow Russia to continue smuggling its troops and arms supplies to Ukraine,” the report says.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry issued this comment after the decision on the extension of the OSCE observers in Gukovo and Donetsk border crossings for another 3 months.
