Ukraine and Canada signed free trade agreement

It took a year to complete negotiations and sign the document.

Ukraine and Canada signed an agreement establishing a free trade area (FTA). The document was signed in the presence of the Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, and Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.

In a joint statement with Trudeau, Poroshenko said that they invite Canadian businessmen to participate in the privatization process in Ukraine.

“We invited Canadian businessmen to take an active part in the privatization process, which will take place transparently, effectively, and in accordance with agreements of the said business forum,” Poroshenko said.

“This extremely important document will bring trade and economic relations between our countries to a new level,” wrote the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv on his Facebook page before signing of this agreement.
