Stoltenberg: Russia and NATO did not agree on Ukraine

NATO and Russia have not reached a common position on the resolution of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference in Brussels after a meeting of the NATO-Russia Council.

“It was a useful meeting, and a frank and honest discussion, but we have not reached a common position on Ukraine,” he said.

According to him, NATO is concerned about the increasing number of cases of violation of the truce in eastern Ukraine.

“All signatories of the Minsk protocol must comply with it,” the secretary general said.

These were the first talks between NATO and Russia after the decision made during Warsaw summit to strengthen eastern borders of the Alliance in response to Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.
