Unknown armed people seized police station in Armenia


A group of armed people took control over police station in the capital of Armenia Yerevan.

They demand the opposition leader Zhirayr Sefilyan, who is currently in jail, to be released.

Military arrived to the building. At the moment, Armenian law enforcers do not comment on the incident, promising to make a statement soon.

The coordinator of the opposition Zhirayr Sefilyan was arrested for illegal purchase and possession of weapons. As explained in the Investigation Committee, he ordered the rest of the accused in the case to carry and store weapons and ammunition, and to be ready to use them in case of need.
