IOC urged to seize preparations for all winter sports competitions in Russia

After the phone conference of the executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), it became known that the IOC would not facilitate any international competitions in Russia.

In addition, the IOC urged international federations for winter sports to freeze preparations for any competitions that were planned to take place in Russia.

“Due to the detailed mention of the manipulation of the samples at the Olympic winter games in Sochi, the IOC asked the International Federation of winter sports to suspend the preparations for the major events in Russia, in particular, world Championships, world Championships and other major international competitions.

The preliminary measures are valid until 31 December 2016. They will be revised by the Executive Committee of the IOC at the meeting in December of 2016

The IOC will not engage in the organization or patronage of any sporting events or meetings. This includes plans to hold the European Games in 2019,” said in a statement published on the official website of the IOC.

Therefore, a stage of the Grand Prix in Figure Skating will not take place in Moscow, as it was initially scheduled for November 2016.
