Russian team was banned from Paralympic Games in Rio

As is was reported by the Guardian, all Russian Paralympics team was excluded from the Paralympic Games. The reason is the same: positive doping test.

Earlier, after the publication of Richard McLaren’s report on the use of doping by Russian athletes, IPC (International Paralympic Committee) made a preliminary decision to ban Russia from the Paralympics.

Yesterday, there was a 3-hour meeting with representatives of the IPC Russia, where the Russian side failed to provide compelling arguments, so by the results of the meeting the final decision to suspend the Russian team was made.

It was also noted that the IPC, as well as the IOC, was subject to an unusually strong pressure to allow the Russian team at the Games, but unlike IOC, was able to withstand the pressure.
