All three Russia’s main mobile carriers confirmed they will not work in Crimea

In the official response from MTS to the request of the Crimean politician, a member of the Simferopol city council of the Republic of Crimea Stepan Kiskin, it was said that all the offices of the company are closed.

“There is no communication network of the MTS on the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol; the radio frequencies are not assigned; the specified area is not a licensed territory of MTS, so MTS does not do business on the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city Sevastopol,” said the response.

According to Stepan Kiskin, MTS takes “cowardly position” regarding residents of the Crimea. The politician insists on the adoption of a federal law requiring mobile operators in Russia to work in the territory of Crimea.

“MTS, as well as Beeline and Megafon, are afraid to enter the mobile market of the peninsula due to the risk of sanctions, they make cowardly and unpatriotic move regarding Crimeans.”

Previously is was reported that Megafon and Beeline also officially confirmed their unwillingness to work in the Crimea.
