Former chairman of the Ministers Council of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic, Gennady Tsypkalov committed suicide after he was arrested on charges of coup attempt.
It was told by the head of agency for law enforcement in the military Sergey Rakno.
“The investigation established a preliminary list of people who in the years 2014-2016 agreed on the scenario of taking power in the republic by killing the republic’s leadership, including the head of the republic, the leaders of the Ministers Councilб and the highest ranked law authorities,” said Rakhno.
According to him, the interrogation of Tsypkalov was scheduled for the last Saturday. Rakhno suggested that the motive for Tsypkalov’s suicide was the fact that he “realized the severity of his criminal actions”, and “his fear that he would be killed by other conspirators”.
