Russian spaceship “Progress” crashed over Siberia


Russian cargo spaceship Progress MS-04 crashed. Debris allegedly fell on the territory of Tuva.

According to a source in law authorities of the region, the information about the possible area of debris spreading came from witnesses, and is being checked.

Later Roscosmos confirmed to Interfax news agency that the Progress was lost at an altitude of 190 km above the Tuva.

“According to preliminary information, the crash occurred as a result of a contingency at an altitude of about 190 kilometers above the rugged uninhabited mountainous territory of the Republic of Tuva, and most of the fragments burned in the atmosphere,” said in a statement of the Russian Space Agency.

Russian State Commission investigates the situation.
