Colonel of Russian army died in Syria


As reported by TASS, referring to the Ministry of Defense, Russian colonel Ruslan Galitsky died of wounds in Syria.

“Colonel Ruslan Galitsky died of wounds in a hospital. Russian military medics were fighting for his life for several days. The officer was wounded during shelling by militants of the opposition in one of the residential areas in the western part of Aleppo,” said in the message.

Russian Defense Ministry said that Galitsky was one of Russian military advisers in Syria.

As it was reported earlier, delegations of the Russian Federation and China blocked a draft of UN Security Council resolution on ceasing the fighting in the Syrian city of Aleppo for one week in order to deliver humanitarian air.
