Ukraine’s president Poroshenko and Senator McCain celebrated New Year with Ukrainian military


On December 31, on the eve of the New Year, president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko arrived in Mariupol together with governor of the Donetsk region Pavel Zhebrivskyi and U.S. Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

The guests visited the Donetsk border detachment, wished the soldiers happy New Year, and brought gifts. Before that, Poroshenko visited the forefront in Shirokino area.

“I am honored to sit at the table with our defenders. But one doesn’t come to the holidays empty-handed,” Poroshenko said.

Border guards were given a coast guard cutter, drones, rifles, and a target-tracking system Aeros. The system has been designed and produced by Ukroboronprom with the support of the United States.
