European Parliament voted for visa-free regime with Georgia

As reported by journalist Rikard Jozwiak, the European Parliament at a plenary session on Thursday voted in favor of granting visa-free regime with Georgia, so its citizens can visit the Shengen Area.

He wrote that on Thursday, February 2 on Twitter:

It was pointed out in the European Parliament that the citizens of Georgia are likely to be able to travel to EU countries without visas by the end of March. Although, the decision of the European Parliament should be approved by the European Council.

It was also noted that in case of any violations the European Union will use a mechanism for the suspension of the visa-free regime with Georgia.
