Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree authorizing the Federal Security Service (FSB) to seize land for needs of the Russian Federation.
The corresponding document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on May 16th. The decree has come into force on the day of signing.
On August 5th, 2016, a presidential decree draft prepared by the Federal Protective Service (FSO) was published, according to which the Service was authorized to seize land for state needs for the construction and reconstruction of federal facilities.
Putin granted the FSO such rights on March 29th, 2017.
