U.S. aircraft shoots down Syrian Su-22 over northern Syria

According to Syrian agency SANA, the international anti-ISIS coalition led by the USA shot down a Syrian air force plane in the Raqqa area on Sunday June 18th.

“Our plane was targeted today near the city of Rakka while it was carrying out a combatant mission against ISIS terrorist organization, causing it to down and missing its pilot,” the Syrian Defense Ministry said.

According to some reports, the plane was “working” at the positions of the armed formations of the democratic forces, which Western countries consider opposition. The official Damascus classifies them as terrorists.

The Syrian authorities considered the strike on the plane a deliberate aggression, proving that “the U.S. and its partners support terrorists.”

“The attack stresses coordination between the US and ISIS, and it reveals the evil intentions of the US in administrating terrorism and investing it to pass the US-Zionist project in the region,” the statement added.
