Gas turbines produced by German company Siemens were supplied to the Crimea despite sanctions that prohibit European companies from supplying certain equipment to the peninsula.
This was reported by Reuters with reference to three sources familiar with the project.
According to the agency, the turbines were brought to Sevastopol from the Taman peninsula. Previously, Siemens reported that it intends to supply turbines for the project at Taman, not in the Crimea.
The company said that they “comply with all restrictions on export control,” and did not supply turbines to the Crimea. The company refused to say whether they were aware of the delivery, and whether they intend to participate in the installation and maintenance of the equipment.
