Russian driver tried to smuggle 99 kilograms of cheese from Finland


The owner of the van Volkswagen Caravel tried to smuggle to Russia almost 100 kg of dairy products from Finland.

According to the press service of the North-Western Customs Administration, an officer at the Brusnichnoe customs post found the cheese under the interior panels of the van.

The driver, who was a Russian citizen, did not specify almost a 100 kg of dairy products in his declaration. The hidden cheeses was found during the customs control, when the inspector had suspicion that the car can contain goods hidden from the inspection.

After the car was sent for detailed assessment, it showed that the lining of the cabin covered 99 kilograms of dairy products, banned to import into Russia.
