Nearly 100 buildings were destroyed by severe fire in Rostov-on-Don


About 100 buildings, including 80 residential single houses, were destroyed by fire in Rostov-on-Don on August 21st. More than 40 people were injured, 7 of them were hospitalized.

As reported by TASS with reference to representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Rostov region, the fire was located on an area of ​​10,000 square meters. (2.5 acres – RRT).

According to the regional center of disaster medicine, a total of 45 people asked for help by the evening, 7 of them had to be hospitalized.

Temporary accommodation facilities for evacuated people and persons without shelter have been organized in the educational institutions of the Proletarian district.

As it was previously reported, the fire started on 33 Nizhedorodskaya Street approximately at 12:50 pm on August 21th. Because of the strong wind, the fire quickly spread to neighboring buildings of the private sector. To extinguish the fire, helicopters and special boats are involved (the area is located at the bank of the Don River). Over 1,200 fire fighters and a total of more than 200 pieces of equipment were working at the scene.
